ACTIVATED, on SABC 2

Researching content for a magazine TV show on SABC 2 called Activate, which showcases unique stories within the disability community from love, fashion, beauty, employment, entrepreneurship, travel, independent living, just to mention a few.

 

The show challenges how society perceives disability. Lastly, the show provides a 'toolbox' to equip the viewers with information that they can make use of to shift their lives for better.

CPUT WOMEN’S EVENT

Notukela addressed the lack of accessibility and support for employees of CPUT. She failed to access her office after acquiring a disability and soon after the institution did not renew her contract.

 

The invitation to address the women’s event of the Faculty of Business was an opportunity to speak truth to power and offer the institution a different perspective and valuable advice from a woman with a disability.

CAPE TOWN TOURISM

Limitless Cape Town Campaign accessibility audit

The accessibility audit and campaign shoot focused on Cape Point, Kirstenbosch Gardens and Table Mountain. Firstly, we reviewed the physical landscape at the famous tourist attraction points and assessed whether it allows for ease of access, as well as ease of mobility.

 

Secondly, touched on the attitudinal barriers that discourage persons with disabilities (PwD) from enjoying these activities, and lead to PwD being inactive and invisible in society.
